FIRE PREVENTIONS STATEMENT

Birchdale Update

We love Nova Scotia and want to see it thrive for years and years to come.

In line with the province‑wide burn ban in effect since July 30, 2025, all open wood fires—including campfires, bonfires, and brush burning—are strictly prohibited on all provincial and private lands, until at least October 15 or until conditions improve. novascotia.ca+1novascotia.ca+9tourismns.ca+9globalnews.ca+9

Additionally, as of August 5, the province has enacted sweeping forest‑access restrictions: hiking, camping, fishing, trail use, and vehicle access in wooded areas are not allowed, whether on Crown or private land, until mid‑October or further notice. novascotia.ca+3thedeepdive.ca+3halifaxexaminer.ca+3

If you would like to visit us you must let us know in advance and stick to the main road all the way in. While here, forest walks and trail outings are suspended, but guests are warmly invited to enjoy peaceful, safe alternatives: our beautiful cabins, swimming, boating, lawn games, porch living, board games, reading, serene natural beauty, lake views and restful moments by the water.

Birchdale Afternoons will be suspended for August. We hope to see you back in September!

Let’s be safe and take care of this land we love.
